|Education:||MA Candidate at Texas A&M University; B.F.A. in Philosophy and Theatre Arts, minor in French, at DePaul University, Chicago, IL, GPA: 3.8, Graduated Magna Cum Laude|
|Experience:||I specialize in writing and essay composition, and have assisted people from high school to Master's level in preparing application essays. My mission as a tutor is to enable skill development: discussing and improving a particular essay becomes an opportunity to develop a deeper comprehension of effective argumentation and cohesive flow. |
In preparing for the GRE, I engaged in a series of practical tactics designed for standardized testing -- and tested in the 95th percentile for Verbal skills.
My undergraduate education focused on narrative and argument across several fields, but I also engaged a variety of subjects for a broader understanding of context. As a French tutor, I believe that my skill in speaking the language is particularly useful for conversation practice. I studied abroad in Paris and maintain my skills through regular practice with friends and travel.
I spent most of the past year in India, teaching a workshop for Indian college students in collaboration with a local instructor. My graduate specialization will be in Communications and Cultural Studies.
|Hobbies:||I am an avid bicyclist, which is my primary mode of transportation, and am slowly building up long distance endurance with an ultimate goal of forty miles. Happily vegan, I have been baking quite a lot lately, trying out new recipes and ideas. I've also been taking pottery lessons.|
I am working on some long-term writing projects, blogging, and self-educating on social theory.
I was completely lost;until I found Briget to help me out with my writing.I have had so many writing teachers and I have learned from them, but she was different; she was able to maintain a warm, productive though professional environment. I feel like I am better equipped now to go into the real world and deal with everyday academic writing.
she has motivated and inspired me to reach higher levels I have never thought I could reach.
I would definitely say, she is good at her job.
