I love learning and teaching language! After graduating college, I spent 5 semesters in China studying Mandarin Chinese full-time. 我会说汉语！ I graduated from Texas A&M University with a BA in Anthropology. Class of 2007. Since then, I have spent most of my time from 2009 to 2017 in China, running a consulting business. I developed an English curriculum for Chinese children, and a training program aimed at the Chinese teachers who will teach them. Our curriculum has reached dozens of teachers and thousands of children in a fun, unique way that has results!
Experience
I have spent most of my adult life either learning or teaching language. I love it! I'm excited to take the skills I used to master a new language and share them with you. I'll help you gain natural, fluent, and practical spoken English, enabling you to feel more at home in this new culture. I can speak, read, and write Chinese, and welcome Chinese/Taiwanese nationals who desire to gain greater "smoothness" and "naturalness" in English and reduce their accent. I also have a lot of experience teaching children with zero or little English foundation. Also, for students wanting to learn Chinese, I can help you get started, coach you through how to learn it well, and teach you practical spoken Chinese. I look forward to meeting you!

Hobbies
I am married, I love my wife, and we have four young children. I like to exercise outside, sing and play guitar, read biographies, and do handstands. Small-town China has become like a second home to me. A big, steaming bowl of spicy rice noodles and a conversation with the owners are all I need to make my day!
